The Zenith Heritage Pilot Ton-up watch is a modern pilot watch with a deliberately vintage look and feel. The watch case, crown and pushers are made from aged stainless steel, and the dial has a unique vintage patina look to it with the bronze colour and off-white dials and numerals. A brand new watch designed to look like you have had it for 40 years already is certainly breaking from the norm. This large and very definitive Zenith pays tribute to the Cafe Racer movement in England in the 1960s, where riders of stripped back and tuned motorbikes would meet in cafes and ride in competition from one cafe to the next. The ultimate goal was to modify their bikes to be able to hit a ton (100 mph). Hence why Zenith named this watch the "ton-up".
Geoff's comment: I am a huge fan of pilot watches and this vintage style Zenith is very unusual and has a real classic look to it. The aged appearance and colour scheme are really striking and the cafe racer engraved on the case back is a touch of class. Of course, this watch hosts the outstanding Zenith El Primero movement with its high beat rate and incredible accuracy. Many believe the El Primero to be the best automatic chronograph movement ever made, and it has certainly stood the test of time having been introduced in 1969.
